Our history

 

1973


Founding of Serge Ferrari. The company begins operations on the market of composite materials designed for industrial applications.


1974


Serge Ferrari develops its pioneering manufacturing process: the Précontraint technology.


1981


Sébastien Ferrari joins the family business to assist his father with sales, marketing and the company’s global expansion.


1991


Romain Ferrari joins the company to oversee the development of new products and processes, and solution durability.


1997


Serge Ferrari purchases the Batyline technology and factory to expand into high-performance composite materials for outdoor furniture and interior design.


1998


Serge Ferrari successfully develops a unique process to recycle its materials. Texyloop allows the company to produce second generation raw materials for a range of applications.


2001


The company acquires Stamoid from Swiss group Forbo and expands its range with the introduction of products for applications in yachting, visual communication, furniture and waterproof breathable membranes.


2005


The Group purchases the Switzerland-based yarn production plant Tersuisse, and now has a completely integrated production process.


2014


Serge Ferrari goes public, with shares introduced on the Euronext Paris regulated market.


2016


Serge Ferrari Group announces the acquisition of a 51% stake in the company Giofex Group SRL, co-owned by GIC. Giofex specializes in the distribution of flexible composite materials and accessories, and in several European countries.


2017


Serge Ferrari Group acquires Plastitex. Based in Carmignano di Brenta, Italy, this family-owned business specializes in the production of innovative composite materials for indoor and outdoor furniture.


2020


In March, Serge Ferrari Group announces the acquisition of a 55% stake in FIT, a Taiwan-based company which designs, manufactures and distributes high-technology non-combustible materials. In July, the Group announces the acquisition of Verseidag-Indutex, world leader in the market for fibreglass/PTFE membranes.
Serge Ferrari Group now employs more than 1,000 people.
